Rob Kiddey BSc(Hons)

Rob grew up in picturesque South Devon, near Bigbury, surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. He began his career as a landscape gardener before gaining experience as a carpenter, plumber and general builder. His passion for sustainable practices led him to volunteer at the Centre for Alternative Technology and complete a Permaculture course in Brighton. Notably, he spent six months working for artist Damien Hirst, which deepened his creative approach to problem-solving.

In 2015, Rob enrolled as a mature student at UWE to pursue a degree in Building Surveying. His studies included valuable placements at Hydrock and Atkins, culminating in his graduation in 2019 with a first-class degree and a Certificate of Excellence from The Chartered Institute of Building.

Upon graduation, Rob joined Hydrock as a Fire Safety Technician and quickly advanced to Fire Engineer, contributing to prominent projects such as The Newt in Somerset. After five years with Hydrock, Rob realised his passion lay in hands-on creativity and problem-solving, leading him to launch his own business, Applewolf, in July 2024. Applewolf embodies Rob’s vision of a creative, family-oriented business that his sons can eventually be a part of.
